Radiolite is a food-grade DE powder and is NOT designed for swimming pool DE filtration.
Product Overview:
Amici offers several varieties of D.E. powder, including Radiolite from China, and Celatom and Dicalite Diatomite from the USA.
Radiolite DE powder is a food-grade DE powder that became popular in the Philippines due to shortages of pool-grade Celatom and Dicalite DE powder during the pandemic. It is not designed for swimming pool filters. Radiolite is manufactured by Showa Chemical Industry Co. Ltd for food and beverage processing and is sourced from the Changbai Mountain range in Jilin, China.

- Celatom / Dicalite: 22.67 kg (50 lbs) bags
Radiolite contains approximately 12% less DE powder compared to Celatom and Dicalite products from the USA.
Recommendation:
While Radiolite is approximately 15'20% cheaper than Celatom, it is intended for use as a food additive and not for swimming pool filtration. Radiolite is not heat-treated and therefore does not have the required crystalline structure to function effectively as a filtration aid.
For swimming pool applications, we strongly recommend using Celatom Diatomite or Dicalite DE Powder, which are specifically designed for pool filtration.
For best pool D.E. filtration performance, choose Celatom Diatomite DE Powder designed specifically for swimming pool use.

Application Tips (For DE Pool Filters):
- Apply approximately 1 pound of DE per 10 square feet of filter area
- Measure the required amount of DE and mix it in a pail of water to create a slurry
- Feed the slurry into the filter through the pool skimmer
- Always follow the filter manufacturer's instructions
- Record the filter pressure after applying DE
- When pressure rises 8'10 psi above the baseline, the filter should be cleaned
- DE filters should be cleaned at least once a year
- To clean: turn off the pump, drain the filter, remove the filter grids, hose them off, reassemble the filter, and apply fresh DE
