COMPACT ELECTRIC WATER HEATER (10-Gallon EJC10)
DESCRIPTION
- Compact design ideal for tight spaces such as under counters or in crawl spaces.
- 10-gallon (nominal) tank with 1 heating element fits into limited installation spaces.
- Coregard' Anode protects the tank from the corrosive effects of water.
HOW IT WORKS
- Cold water enters through an internal dip tube, which forces cold water to the bottom of the tank and pushes hot water out through the outlet connection.
- This setup provides the most hot water for a given tank size.
- The water heater has two thermostats: the bottom thermostat controls the lower heating element, while the top thermostat controls the upper heating element. Usually, only one element is active at a time.
- The lower element does most of the work because it sees the cold water first, while the upper element is used only when the entire tank is cold.
- The steel tank is glass-lined, and an anode rod helps reduce corrosion.
- A temperature and pressure relief valve opens if internal temperature or pressure exceeds safe limits.
- Water heaters should be sized to provide adequate hot water even during cold temperatures and peak household demand.
