STORAGE, HANDLING, AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
- Chlorine is highly corrosive. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Do not ingest. Ingestion can cause severe injury or death. If ingested, drink plenty of milk or water and consult a doctor immediately. In case of skin or eye contact, flush the affected area thoroughly with water.
- Do not breathe dust or fumes from chlorine. Wear eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing when handling.
- Keep chlorine out of the reach of children.
- Store in a well-ventilated, cool, and dry place. Containers should be tightly closed when not in use. Do not slide or drop containers. Use only a clean, dry plastic scoop to remove chlorine from its container.
- Do not expose chlorine to heat sources, fire, or direct sunlight, as this may produce hazardous gases.
- Keep chlorine free from contaminants. Never allow contact with oils, fats, acids, or other flammable materials. Do not mix chlorine with any substance other than water, including cyanuric acid-based solutions, to prevent rapid gas production or explosion.
- Any solution prepared using chlorine should be used immediately. Do not store solutions.
